Mission Statement

The Vietnam Veterans of American San Jacinto Chapter 343 fosters the individual growth and development of Vietnam veterans of the Houston metropolitan area by promoting a positive public image. Through participation in national, state, community, and chapter activities, we provide information, fellowship, and assistance to veterans and their families with emphasis on helping disadvantaged veterans and to uphold our motto: Pride in service and pride in our organization.

Membership

Membership is open to any veteran of the military service of the United States who served on active duty for other than training purposes between 28-Feb-61 and 7-May-75 for in-country Vietnam service or between 5-Aug-64 and 7-May-75 for all others.

Annual dues = $ 20
3 year dues = $ 50

Life membership dues
Up to age 49 = $ 250
Age 50 - 55 = $ 225
Age 56-60 = $ 200
Age 61-65 = $175
Age 66 and above = $ 150
(also available on time payment plan)

Membership includes a subscription to the Chapter's award winning newsletter the Warrior, the Texas VV News, a quarterly publication of news and information from chapters across the state, and VVA's semi-monthly national newspaper The Veteran.

Meetings

The next meeting is on Friday, 9 February 2007  at 7:30 p.m. at Bo's Place, 10050 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, TX.  In observance of St. Valentine's Day, a complimentary catered meal of lasagna and spaghetti and all the trimmings will be served immediately before the meeting to all members and guests.
