Rice Stadium Concessions The chapter has concluded a successful fund raising seaon at Rice Owls football at Rice Stadium.  We will now staff a concessions stand at a select few Rice Owls home baseball games at Reckling Park on the Rice University campus during the 2007 season.  Volunteers are needed and welcome.  See the link for the Owls football schedule on Favorite Links page. Astros Season Tickets The chapter has available to members two season tickets to all Houston Astros 2007 regular season home games at Minutemaid Park.  The tickets are free to members (parking not included) and are available on a first-come basis.  Contact the chapter to reserve the date of your choice. If the Astros go into the post season, the chapter will have available for purchase at face value a set of 2 tickets for each playoff game.  If more than one person requests these tickets, the purchaser for each game will be selected by lottery.
Adopt-a-Platoon The chapter formerly supported an infantry platoon of the 101st Airborne Div. in Iraq until their redeployment to the States.  We sent over 100 lbs. of food and comfort items.  Now, we are supporting personnel from the US Army's 10th Mountain Div. in Afghanistan and the 25th ID in Iraq.  We continue to send them toiletry kits and other comfort items and other essentials that are passed out to the impoverished local population.
Donations to Other Organizations The chapter recently made financial contributions to the VVA Florida State Council and to the national office for disaster relief after the devastating effects of the 2005 hurricanes. Annual Veterans Day Benefit BBQ Proceeds from last year's event were designated to the chapter's Connally Scholarship.
